Process of Organic Coffee

Bean > Brew

How is organic coffee processed into a Wayne's Coffee cup? What are the steps? How does it all come together?

  • Location

Coffee plants are now cultivated in over 70 countries, primarily in the equatorial regions of the Americas, Southeast Asia, Indian subcontinent, and Africa. This is where coffee beans commonly thrive, in those particular environments. The balance of the natural environment is maintained when the coffee is organically farmed.
  • Seed & Plant

Coffee seeds are planted and left to grow. But to what? A cherry, coffee beans is a seed of a fruit, a cherry, that is really sweet, and there are two seeds in each cherry.
  • Hand-Harvested

They have to be hand-harvested because they get ripe at different times during the 3 months harvest. Once ripe, coffee berries are picked and put into sacks for measurements.
  • Bean Extracted from Fruit

Cherries go through a wet process before going into steps to separate the fruit from the bean. It is then routed to the compost pile to start the new coffee plants. It is then fermented overnight, removing the last trace of fruit.
  • Dry

We now dry the beans, moisture is reduced to roughly 12% in the dehumidifier.
  • Remove the Skin

We now shake the beans till the parchment comes off. All along the way, the beans are checked for quality. We evaluate aroma, flavour and acidity for balance in each batch of beans.
  • Ship

Coffee beans are then put into packets and then shipped to our store. Quality is checked to bring out the best flavour of our coffee.
  • Brew

Hot water is poured onto the organic coffee beans, allowing it to brew.
  • Serve

You. We now serve our special customers our organic coffee with a touch of Wayne's Coffee, providing a range of unique and well-known coffee drinks.
